SYNOPSIS.
/ctcp <nick> <command>
SUMMARY.
ctcp is Client to Client Protocol. While you can do some very powerful things with ctcp, I will only explain the most basic ctcp commands here.
ping - Finds out how much time it takes for your messages to be received by the person whom you are pinging. In other words, how lagged the other person is.
version - Gets the version of the IRC Client.
finger - Gives additional information about a user, sometimes it is not much more than the /whois.
userinfo - Gives additional information about a user, and their client. Sometimes it is not much more than the /whois.
clientinfo - Returns the available ctcp commands for that user's client.
time - Returns the date and time of that person's computer clock.
So, lets say that I want to find out what client and version [SQ]werl is using. I would type:
/ctcp [SQ]werl version
And it would return this information to me.
CTCP VERSION reply from [SQ]werl [~bleh@12-212-48-177.client.attbi.com] : savIRC - v 1.95
