savIRC offers configurability without getting too complex. From changing the fonts of queries, to changing the font of buttons. savIRC also allows you to change the gradient colors on the scrollbars.

Right now I am just going to go over the basics. Just what you need to connect to an IRC Server, and start meeting people.

The defaults are perfectly fine for basic use. After awhile, you may want to tinker, and change some settings. You must enter a nickname of your choice, although I say that, most basic nicknames are already taken, so you might need to be creative. Which is one reason why savIRC has to entry's to put nicknames in. If you haven't already you will want to open up savIRC for this next section.
